Stream Trekking Is Trending — the Creeks Are Lining Up

Stream trekking used to be a quiet summer ritual for diehard outdoorsy types. Now Xiaohongshu has pushed it onto millions of home feeds. Mountaineering jackets, grippy water shoes, waterproof phone pouches — the gear checklist reads like a summit attempt.

The creeks, however, haven't gotten any wider. What started as a handful of friends has turned into a steady stream of strangers, and those carefully curated "hidden gems" are suddenly dealing with foot traffic. Rocks get polished underfoot, fish relocate upstream, the occasional trash bin runs on overtime.

Real refreshment, maybe, isn't about the water temperature. It's whether there's still a stretch of creek no one has posted about yet.
