The Monkey King's Indestructible Body Meets a Hot Pastry
Lightning and fire bounce right off — but a sizzling slab of pastry sends the Great Sage scrambling between his palms.

Picture the scene: at the foot of Flaming Mountain, the Monkey King palms a slab of piping-hot pressed cake. His eyebrows shoot up, and he starts shuffling the pastry between his hands like a kid who just touched a stovetop. Hot, hot, hot! Tastes terrible! The Great Sage, Equal to Heaven, suddenly looks a lot smaller.
The novel swears he's built like a titanium thermos — lightning bounces off, flames leave no mark. Just a few pages later, his old buddy Zhu Bajie can't help ribbing him: "I thought you said nothing could burn you, brother?"
Turns out the Monkey King's immunity list has a very specific footnote. Immortal weapons, divine fire, cosmic thunder — all fine. Street snacks, though, remain his one true weakness.
